Price Reduction of $1,150,000 (was $1,500,000).
From a bygone era of American yacht building, this rare 72’ (21.95m) Trumpy luxury motor yacht named “DOVETAIL” is being offered for sale and is available for private showing by appointment during the Palm Beach International Boat Show (19-23 March 2025). DOVETAIL is an absolute must-see for Trumpy, wooden boat and classic-yacht lovers. DOVETAIL was John Trumpy and Sons contract #446 built in 1972 in Annapolis, Maryland as one of the last of the popular galley up “Houseboat” model – so called because John Trumpy declared that the model “offers all the comforts of home.” Originally launched with the name “GERIFAY”, she served as Committee Boat for the 1974 Americas Cup Races in Newport, Rhode Island.
DOVETAIL has an enclosed pilothouse and a large full-width galley forward on the main deck. Her overall length is 72’ / 21.95m, with a beam of 18’ / 5.49m and a draft of 4’5” / 1.35m, measuring 69 gross tons / 55 net tons. Her hull is artfully built of steam-bent oak framing, with double planked mahogany — 3/8-inch inner mahogany planks and 3/4-inch outer mahogany planks and marine grade 5200. Completely restored and impeccably well-maintained, DOVETAIL is a classic yacht with fully modernized systems. Please mention the “Palm Beach Show Special” to receive the pre-published special price of $1,150,000 (currently $1,500,000.)
