Luzon is the country’s largest island and expected to have the greatest population among the three island groups. Luzon is home to tourist destinations such as Palawan, mountainous terrains and volcanoes. Palawan is a must-see destination boasting some of the world’s finest beaches including El Nido. UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Tubbataha Reef National Park and Puerto Princesa Subterranean River.

The Visayas island group lies between the regions of Luzon and Mindanao, and is the smallest region of the islands. Boracay, Chocolate Hills in Bohol and Cebu City are the most popular destinations among this island group. The Visayas are famous for widely celebrated cultural events such as the Dinagyang, Atiatihan and Sinulog festivals in honor of religious traditions.
