What is a yacht charter?
A yacht charter is the ultimate choice for a customized, private, luxury vacation. Think of it as a floating villa taking you on a cruise to the destination of your choice. Whether you prefer motor yachts or sails, we have boats ranging between 40’ to over 300’. Would you like to berth alongside yachts in the heart of the Côte d’Azur? Experience gunkholing around the coast of Maine? Enjoy the nightlife in the Caribbean? Whatever you desire, we will find the right yacht and crew for you.
Why use a Charter Broker?
A Charter Broker is a professional charter yacht consultant. Professional charter brokers are up-to-date with destination knowledge, sailing conditions, equipment and amenities, the condition of yachts that are available for charter, as well as the experience of the crew, and local laws governing yachts. In order to expertly advise clients on the most suitable yacht for their party, a reputable charter broker will regularly attend charter shows worldwide in order to inspect yachts firsthand and personally meet their crews.
It is the charter broker’s job to handle all the details so that you can enjoy a care free vacation. Charter brokers are experienced in charter contract terms and the jurisdictions of the myriad of locations and yacht flag states. Your broker will draft the appropriate charter agreement, signed by the yacht’s owner, to protect you as client. Charter funds will be held in escrow in accordance with the charter agreement and the broker’s fiduciary responsibility to you. Your broker is available before, during and after the charter to answer any questions you have, to assist you in making any changes to your charter, and to help plan future adventures.
A qualified charter broker will be a member of at least one of these prominent worldwide charter yacht industry associations: American Yacht Charter Association (AYCA), Mediterranean Yacht Broker’s Association (MYBA) or Charter Yacht Brokers Association (CYBA.)
Do I pay a charter broker for his or her services?
Charter brokers are paid a commission by the yacht’s owner. There is no cost to you for the services of a professional charter broker.
From special needs to special events, how does a Charter Broker assist with these?
Perhaps a member of your party has dietary restrictions or physical limitations. A professional charter broker will find a yacht with an experienced chef who can cater to dietary requirements, or a vessel with appropriate accommodations and access for guests’ needs.
Will you be celebrating an anniversary or birthday? Your charter broker and yacht crew will work to make it the vacation of a lifetime!
How much will it cost to charter a yacht?
Whether this is a vacation of a lifetime or your annual get-away-from-it-all adventure, a professional charter broker will be able to assess the complete cost of a yacht charter in advance of booking; presenting you with a selection of suitable yachts for your budget.
Where can I charter a yacht?
Yachts are available for charter almost anywhere there is water: the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mediterranean, Adriatic, Northern Europe, US Eastern Seaboard & New England, Pacific Northwest, South Pacific — are some of the most popular destinations for yacht charters. We find the best yachts available in these and other locations worldwide, whether cruising the world’s hot spots or its most secluded islands as the sole yacht anchored in a remote bay… whatever your pace, whatever your desire.
How will the yacht’s crew know about our charter party’s needs?
Once the charter contract is executed, the broker will issue a charter information and preference form for guests to complete. This will enable the captain and crew to plan menus, beverage & wine selection, activities for children in the party and a custom cruising itinerary outlining special interests such as snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, jet skis, shopping, nightlife, hiking, wildlife… as well as special celebrations.
