Ibiza has always been a trendy Mediterranean destination for the smaller superyacht segment, but with the launch of a new superyacht marina, the island hopes to cater to both small and large superyachts.
The Balearic Islands Port Authority recently awarded the marina specialist division of Sovren House Group permission to create a new superyacht marina in the Port of Ibiza Town. The launch of Sovern Marina promises to make a significant impact on the super yacht industry in the Balearic’s and reflects the growing demand for berths in the region as a direct outcome of the easing cruising regulations in Spain. Additionally, the concept behind the development also ties in with a new breed of marinas and the infrastructure that superyachts are becoming accustomed to. Sovern Marina plans to open in time for the 2017 season.
