Earl MacKenzie, owner operator of the traditional tall ship BONNIE LYNN, a longtime member of the Nicholson charter fleet, is off on a new adventure aboard LITTLE VIGILANT. This steel hulled motoryacht that resembles a sardine trawler was designed by Walter McGinnis, Boston, Massachusetts, and built by Abeking & Rasmussen, Bremerhaven, Germany, in 1950.
We ran into Earl and crew as they were fueling up on the Newport waterfront. LITTLE VIGILANT will be shipped to the Caribbean and Earl and his wife, skipper Bonnie MacKenzie, will host the owner, his guests and friends through winter 2018 in the islands. The MacKenzies kept busy in summer 2017 refitting LITTLE VIGILANT for this odyssey. Fear not: BONNIE LYNN is at rest on her mooring in Maine, well-cared for and winter prepped.
