The future of the travel industry is extremely bright and according to a new study, millennials are to thank!
The recently published “Millennial Brief on Travel & Lodging” report from FutureCast explains that millennials currently spend more than $200 billion annually on travel. The report also indicates that a majority of millennials seek new experiences above everything else while traveling. Furthermore, 70 % of millennials stated that they want to explore the communities they visit on vacation to learn something about them in the process.
The study also indicates that millennial travelers successfully blend business with leisure… 62% indicated that they extend their business trips into personal vacations.
The millennial influence has been felt throughout many industries already. As brands continue to embrace social media, the millennial influence will only continue to expand in the coming years as the number of travelers within the generation increases.
