Nicholson Yachts offers a unique way to view the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda
The America’s Cup dates all the way back to 1851, when a group of businessmen from New York sailed the schooner “America” across the Atlantic Ocean to represent the United States at the World’s Fair in England. The schooner won a race around the Isle of Wight and acquired a trophy called the £100 Cup. After the schooner returned home, the businessmen donated the trophy to the New York Yacht Club under a Deed of Gift, which stated that the trophy was to be “a perpetual challenge cup for friendly competition between nations.” Thus was born the America’s Cup, named after the winning schooner America, as opposed to the country.
Fast-forward to June 2017, when the 35th America’s Cup takes over the crystal waters of Bermuda. The best sailors on the fastest boats will compete for the oldest trophy in international sport. Nicholson Yachts is proud to offer a unique viewing experience for this historic event! Five of our luxurious yachts will be available for charter which gives you front row access to the races! Skip the lines and the crowded viewing areas. Step aboard your floating villa and view the races in complete comfort!
